The latest fishing report:

Over the last month we have had several cold fronts come through and drop temperatures below normal for our area. When this happens it shocks the water like your swimming pool and kills all the bacteria in algae. The water then gets crystal clear which makes Incredible sight fishing opportunities for redfish sea trout in black drum during the winter months. This exact phenomenon has occurred over the last two weeks and I’m happy to report but the fishing has just simply turned red hot. As of lately it’s not unheard of to catch 5 to 7 redfish and 6 to 8 sea trout per 3 hour fishing charter. Several areas are holding large groups of black drum that are ranging between 5 and 12 pounds. Most days I’m having a lot of success with just using artificial however it is imperative to bring along live bait just in case the bites a little sensitive. In that case I’m using live shrimp under popping Corks And or free lined with just hook and line.

One thing I will definitely add about this time of the year is in these conditions the fishing can be very beginner-friendly. So definitely don’t worry if this was your first time out or you just don’t get out that much don’t have a whole lot of fishing skills or simply not needed with the style of method that I use. In return that tends to make great fishing for kids and beginners. So come on out and let’s go get you some fish while you’re vacationing in Orlando.
